Brewing Guide

Every bag of Caféxtasis is small-batch roasted to bring bold, dessert-inspired flavors to your cup. How you brew makes all the difference. Follow these guides to get the most out of every grind.

☕ Drip / Pour Over

Clean, bright, and flavor-forward — the everyday ritual elevated.

What You'll Need

  • Medium-fine grind (pre-ground for Drip/Pour Over)
  • Drip coffee maker or pour-over dripper with filter
  • Filtered water, heated to 195–205°F (just off boil)

Ratio

1–2 tablespoons of coffee per 6 oz of water. Adjust to taste.

Steps

  1. Place filter in dripper or machine basket. Rinse with hot water and discard rinse water.
  2. Add your Caféxtasis grounds.
  3. For pour over: start with a 30-second bloom — pour just enough water to saturate the grounds and let the CO₂ escape.
  4. Continue pouring in slow, circular motions until you reach your desired volume.
  5. For drip machine: fill the reservoir and brew as normal.
  6. Serve immediately for peak aroma and flavor.

Tip: Flavored coffees shine brightest black — try it without cream or sugar first.

🫙 French Press

Full-bodied and rich — lets every tasting note come through.

What You'll Need

  • Coarse grind (pre-ground for French Press/Cold Brew)
  • French press
  • Filtered water at 200°F

Ratio

1:15 coffee to water — about 1 oz (28g) coffee per 15 oz (450ml) water.

Steps

  1. Preheat your French press with hot water, then discard.
  2. Add coarse grounds to the press.
  3. Pour hot water evenly over grounds. Give a gentle stir.
  4. Place the lid on top (plunger pulled up) and steep for 4 minutes.
  5. Slowly press the plunger down with steady, even pressure.
  6. Pour immediately — don't let it sit or it'll over-extract.

Tip: The coarser grind lets the flavoring oils bloom beautifully. Expect a heavier, more indulgent cup.

🧊 Cold Brew

Smooth, low-acid, and intensely flavored — dessert in a glass.

What You'll Need

  • Coarse grind (pre-ground for French Press/Cold Brew)
  • Large jar or cold brew pitcher
  • Cold or room-temperature filtered water
  • Fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth

Ratio

1:4 coffee to water for concentrate, 1:8 for ready-to-drink.

Steps

  1. Combine coarse grounds and cold water in your jar.
  2. Stir gently to ensure all grounds are saturated.
  3. Cover and refrigerate for 12–18 hours. Longer = stronger.
  4. Strain through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a clean container.
  5. Serve over ice. Dilute concentrate with water or milk to taste.

Tip: Cold brew amplifies sweet and chocolatey flavor notes. It's phenomenal with our Double Dark Chocolate or Bananas Foster roasts.

🔥 Espresso

Concentrated, intense, and bold — the purist's cup.

What You'll Need

  • Fine grind (pre-ground for Espresso)
  • Espresso machine or stovetop Moka pot
  • Filtered water

Ratio

1:2 coffee to espresso — 18g grounds yields ~36g espresso.

Steps (Espresso Machine)

  1. Preheat your machine and portafilter.
  2. Dose 18g of fine grounds into the portafilter basket.
  3. Tamp firmly and evenly — aim for ~30 lbs of pressure.
  4. Lock in the portafilter and begin extraction. Target a 25–30 second pull.
  5. The shot should be rich, with a golden crema on top.

Steps (Moka Pot)

  1. Fill the bottom chamber with cold filtered water to just below the safety valve.
  2. Fill the filter basket with fine grounds, leveled but not tamped.
  3. Assemble and heat over medium-low flame.
  4. Remove from heat when you hear a gurgling sound — don't let it sputter.

Tip: Caféxtasis espresso shines as a base for lattes and cappuccinos — the flavoring holds beautifully through steamed milk.
